This work takes plant grafting as a perspective to reflect on human society, envisioning a future in which plants and humans coexist in an interdependent, grafted, and digitized symbiotic relationship.

Work Description

Based on existing technology, I attempt to explore a deeper interpretation of the integration and interdependence between organic life and artificial life in the future.

Humans have grafted and trained plants, and at the same time, they have modified and replaced their own organs and functions to maintain physical balance. Human desires are not only limited to transforming plants and themselves but also drive the continuous advancement and innovation of modern science, ultimately improving human well-being.

Based on the optimal characteristics of ecosystems and plants, human bodies serve as the substrate, while plant traits act as grafts, forming a new mode of coexistence through training and adaptation. Each illustration in the work portrays different scenarios of this coexistence.

Through these depictions, the work aims to critique human-centered desires and reimagine a future where humans and plants transcend limitations, prompting the audience to reconsider their relationship with the ecosystem.
